The world has a serious pet overpopulation problem.

In Canada, we destroy tens of thousands of dogs per year, and our closest neighbour, the United States, destroys between 4 and 5 million dogs per year. Plus, there are countless numbers of homeless and neglected dogs throughout the world that die simply because of the conditions they are born into.

How do we put a stop to this? Through education emphasizing the importance of spay & neuter. It just takes one time for Fido to escape from the backyard and find Fidoette. Rescue is not a solution; it's a band-aid but until the day comes when there are No More Homeless Pets, The Penny Foundation will continue to be a band-aid.

Regardless where a dog comes from, The Penny Foundation believes all dogs are worth saving, their "issues" are trainable, and people really can learn new tricks.

So whether it's from us or another rescue or shelter, Adopt Don't Shop! You can save a life!
